For nearly two months I’ve been harping on about my craft room; I’ve finally finished it. There was a moment while looking at photos of other people’s craft rooms -see previous posts- when I lost all motivation, but once I accepted that mine will never be 100% perfect while I still have too much stuff I got over it and finished.

I still have to paint, but I’ll save that for a warmer month and I’m not entirely happy with the printer/computer arrangement. It’s still a huge improvement on what it was though- which was basically a study with half a trestle table to sew on. The trestle you see in the photos is much bigger than it looks. My machines are stored underneath along with other sewing supplies.

I’ve spent today doing some sorting and organising in my study and had a poke around on Flickr for some inspiration. I really wish I could have some of the options below. It’s not so much the colour schemes I like, more the way they look uncluttered despite having quite a few things there. Needless to say my home does not look like these! I need to work on my skills!

I’m in the process of doing a rather large scale clean out of my study/craft room. I still have a little way to go (and I still haven’t found the perfect wall colour!), but I’ve managed to arrange my study into areas - computer, craft, exercise. The real point of this post aside from me rambling away is to show you these amazing craft rooms that we can all aspire to have! My fabric storage shelf is roughly the colour of the one in the last picture so I’m wondering if I should do bluey/green walls too.

1. My creative space, 2. Craft Room, 3. New Studio, 4. Sewing corner, 5. New studio redo, 6. IMG_0475, 7. new studio!, 8. My “ironing center”, 9. The Posie studio, repainted and reorganized at last!

I still cannot believe how well the garden has bounced back over the past month. I can’t stop taking photos of everything!

To tell the truth, I lost interest in Veg About when we had all that hot weather, plants were stunted, most of mine already gone to seed and overall our veggies just weren’t very successful.
But in the last few weeks interesting things have happened:
1.

The veggie garden is revived! Look at all the green! Please ignore the weeds!
2.

We have baby capsicum! We planted these in September and I’m amazed that 6 months later they finally flowered and have fruit!
3.

Remember the cucumbers I started growing from seed in December? We have at least 5 full size cucumbers to pick and lots of little ones on the way!
4.

Would you believe the peas are back? They’re growing from the ones that died off in December.
5.

Baby lettuce! Before we ripped out the 3 foot high lettuce’s we shook them to drop seeds everywhere. We now have baby lettuce!
6.

The parsley has gone nuts!
7.

Six months later and the spring onions are ready… clearly we did something wrong here!
8.

Cinders thinks the newly grown weeds grass is much better than the brown hay we had several months ago.
Overall I’m really excited about our garden, most things that looked dead have come back with the exception of an azalea. Our borage plant which died down before Christmas has self seeded and there are mini borages everywhere. My herbs look like they’re beginning to die down for winter, but lasted amazingly well throughout the summer. For most of the time the only water the garden got was shower and washing machine water - it can be done!
